Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary L. Davis Copeland, age 72, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., and Bro. Gary Davis, officiated. Interment followed be at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA.
Mary was born November 5, 1953, in Montgomery, AL, to Buddy and Ernestine Reames Davis. She entered into rest on April, 20, 2026, in Homer, LA. Mary met the love of her life, Jerry Copeland, at the Quick Stop convenient store she worked at on Hwy 165 in Monroe, LA. Both were residential and commercial painters where they were employed by several different contractors. Mary had many different hobbies such as, gardening, fishing, vacationing with family, and cooking the best meals for her family. She loved living on Lake Claiborne and watching westerns with Jerry. Her cats, Chester, Miss Kitty, and Matt Dillion as well as other pets the family had, brought her much joy over years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing board games like Candy Land, Checkers, and craft activities making memories with her kids and grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jenny Davis; and son-in-law, William Brian Butts.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 53 years, Jerry Copeland; two sons, Frankie Blake and wife Anne of Holdenville, OK, and Jerry Copeland, JR, and wife Shelly of Columbia, LA; daughter, Tina Jean Butts of Queen City, TX; sister Rhonda Cole of Florence, AL; two brothers, Gary Gene Davis and wife Karen of Monroe, LA, and Rusty Davis and wife Debbie of Columbia, LA; six grandchildren, Tommy Lawson and wife Emily, Matthew Lawson, Jacie Kate Copeland, Luke Copeland, Jaxson Denison, and Cooper Denison; along numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Rusty Davis, Gary Davis, Tommy Lawson, Matthew Lawson, Jaxson Denison, and Cooper Denison.
