Mary Anne Wasson Triplet, better known as “Mimi,” age 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, after a lengthy illness with her two daughters and their families by her side. Mary was born on March 30, 1936, to Joseph Audrin Wasson and Mamie Shirey Wasson of Homer, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Frank “Trip” Triplet; her parents; son-in-law, James Paul Simmons; great-grandson, Solan Peterson, and sister, Carolyn Musgrove.
Our mom was a very devoted Christian who loved her Lord and Saviour. Her life exemplified Christ in every way. However, she did have some choice words from time to time. She taught Sunday School, drove a church bus while living in Grand Prairie, Texas. She worked as a Telephone/PBX/Switchboard operator, where she retired from SWEPCO in 2001.
She loved spending time with her family, grandkids, and her best friends, Ruth Harrell and Kitty Armstrong (deceased). She loved taking trips, and for her 82nd birthday, she was able to visit New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., getting to tour the White House. She is also known for her ministry of sending family, friends, and others cards for birthdays, Christmas, or whatever the occasion may be. She was an encourager and a prayer warrior.
Mom was affectionately known as Mimi and Mary Anne to those who loved her dearly. She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Simmons and Kristy Schuldt (Kenny); four grandchildren, Bridget (Ronnie), David (Sarah), Kyle (Paige), and Katie (Garrett); five great-grandchildren, Sammy, Parker, Lane, Mason, and Joanna Claire; brother-in-law, David Musgrove; nieces, Kim Spurlock, and Stefanie Simpson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We are truly grateful to our mother's Angels and staff at Pilgrim Manor for taking great care and loving her while she was in their care. A special thank you to Brenda Washington for being her special angel. Thank you to Belinda Montgomery and the staff at Gentiva for their love and support.
Pallbearers will be David Scarborough, Ronnie Peterson, Kenny Schuldt, Kyle Schuldt, Brad Simpson, and Jeff Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Musgrove, Ronald Day, Jim Spurlock, Jed Spurlock, Broc Simpson, Garrett Paintin, and Ron Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Team Solan Foundation, 573 NorthPark Court, Bossier City, LA 71111.
