Mary Ann Smith

Our precious, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Mary Ann Smith, passed away Sunday, and met her Lord and Savior face to face. She devoted her life to working with children.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world!

Mary was born August 10, 1944 to Ray and Marie Thomason in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Shreveport.

Mary graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1962. “Once a Knight, always a Knight!” She participated in the marching band while at Woodlawn. Her passion was her family. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Woodrow, her five children, Tammy Smith, Terrie Fulco, Deanne Smith, Michael Smith and Stephen Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews; and sister, Linda Beason and husband, James.

Honoring Mary Ann as pallbearers will be Paul Barriers, Michael Smith, Stephen Smith, Joshua Smith, Chase Fulco, Kolton Smith, Austin Smith and Michael Fulco.

A private graveside service will be held for the family. Officiating the service will be Brother Bob Moore.

Our appreciation to her hero, Dr. Bob Massingill, and his staff, at the Cancer Treatment Center at Christus Highland, is immeasurable. The family would also like to express special thanks to the nurses and Christus Highland Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mary.
