Martha Jane Knight

Funeral services for Martha Jones Bartley Papa Knight, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. 

Martha was born October 16, 1936 in Golden, Texas to Isaac Horace Jones and Ovadee Darden Jones and passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Shreveport.

Maratha is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Wayne Bartley; sisters, Jeanette Liles and Edith Loyd; and brother, Thomas Jones. Left to cherish her memory are her children, David Bartley, Mark Bartley and wife, Rebecca, Timothy Bartley and wife, Patricia, Joseph Papa and wife, Sherry, Sammy Papa and wife, Rhonda; brother, Joseph Henry Jones; grandchildren, Melissa Hatley and husband, David, Baylee Bartley, Brooke Bartley Manzano, Brandon Bartley, Brandi Bartley, Deanna Bartley, Jonathan Bartley, Kayla Papa, and Trey Papa; numerous great-grandchildren,  nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

Honoring Martha as pallbearers will be David Bartley, Mark Bartley, Timothy Bartley, Brandon Bartley, and Joseph Papa. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Bartley.

The family would like to give special thanks to Joseph Henry Jones from our mother and the entire family for all the help, love, and  compassion he gave to Martha. We also want to thank The Bradford and Gentiva Hospice for all their wonderful care.
