Funeral services for Marna "Merle" Robinson will be held on Thursday, December10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery, White Lightning Rd, Homer, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Rice.
Merle was born on August 1, 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana to James Benjamin Poe and Gertrude Poe and passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Elm Grove, Louisiana.
Merle was married to George T. Robinson on January 17, 1970 until his passing. She was employed for Pel State Oil Company in 1965 as office manager until when she went to work for Fillmore Oil Company, where she continued to work until retirement.
Merle enjoyed spending time with family for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and the 4th of July. She loved traveling with family and her beloved cocker spaniel, Gigi. She would spend hours sewing dolls with her daughter, Renee. She was smart and was someone that everyone went to for advice.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George T. Robinson; daughter, Faith; three brothers, JB, Gurvis, and Marcel and three sisters, Pauline, Ruby and Wanda. She is survived by brother, Odis Poe; daughter, Renee Hill and husband, Charles; sons, Wayne Spence and wife, Michelle, Beau Robinson and wife, Becky and Jim Robinson and wife, Patrice; grandchildren, Mikki, Kristi, Heather, Krystin, Travis Wayne, Mandy, Renee, Stephanie, Theasa, Shannah, Ian, Myles, Braden, Lindsay, Knox; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Merle as pallbearers will be Wayne Spence, Travis Wayne Spence, Beau Robinson, Jim Robinson, Braden Robinson and Charles Hill.
