A memorial service honoring and celebrating the life of Marla Jo Ann Tunnell will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Carscadden.
Marla was born October 5, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Thomas M. And Glenda Jo Ann Tunnell. God's angels took her home September 17, 2021.
She graduated from Trinity Heights Christian Academy and then proceeded to Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. After several years she went back to Northeast Louisiana University and received her master's degree in counseling and was very active in a twelve-step recovery group, Marla touched many lives through this program. Her spiritual life led her to the ministry, chaplainship and Billy Graham Rapid Relief Team. Marla dedicated her life to God and helping others spiritually, financially and physically to anyone that might have needed help. She loved to travel, she went on several missions to help people and see different parts of the world. The love of her life was her son, Madison Ray Coon, who passed away in 2010. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. Marla will be dearly missed by so many.
She is preceded in death by her son and mother. Left to cherish her memories is her father, Thomas Tunnell; stepmother, Mitzi Tunnell; brother, Allen Tunnell and wife, Kathy; nieces, Cassie Tunnell, Allison Tunnell and many other relatives and friends whom she loved.
