Mark Dewayne Sanderlin

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mark Dewayne Sanderlin, 56, of Lake Erling will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Steve Hall.

Mark was born January 18, 1967, in Dallas, Texas to Lorris Wayne Sanderlin and Mary Joyce Hunt Sanderlin. He passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

After 18 years together, Mark and Misti drove their side-by-side to a friend’s cabin on the lake and were married on July 21, 2021. Mark loved to fish but said his greatest joy was watching Misti catch those big catfish. He was an avid LSU Tiger and Louisiana Tech Bulldog fan. Mark was also a big teaser, particularly to his son Cody! His favorite greeting to Cody was, “Are you finished working already it’s not even noon yet.” He was devoted to his mother and always called her twice a day to check on her. Mark was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather that is going to be greatly missed.

Mark is preceded in death by his father, Lorris Wayne Sanderlin. He is survived by his wife, Misti Sanderlin; son, Cody Sanderlin; mother, Joyce Sanderlin; stepchildren, Thomas Duke and wife, Ashley, Jacob Duke, and Christina Garland; and grandchildren, Izabel Solis, Hazel Duke, and Ezra Duke.

The family would like to thank all of their friends and extended family for their prayers and daily visits as well as the doctors and ICU nurses at Christus Highland for their care and compassion shown to Mark.
