Marilyn was born April 27, 1951, in Minden, Louisiana and entered into rest January 24, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne Winget and wife Debra; sisters, Andrea Winget and Linda Winget; nephews, Jason Winget, Tracy Winget and wife Lorrie, and Christopher Winget and wife Hannah all of Minden.  She is also survived by five great nephews, Aiden, Mason, Braxton, Logan, and Dean Winget, who were the apple of her eye.  She was also survived by a host of cousins and one aunt, Barbara Coe, of Minden.

Marilyn worked many years at Dunham Manufacturing Company of Minden and then worked for the Webster Parish School Board for many years and retired in July of 2022.

Marilyn was an avid reader and loved all things trivia.  Anytime the family needed to know the answer to a trivia question, Marilyn was always the go-to person.  She loved all games that included trivia and words.

Marilyn loved to travel and was always ready for the next road trip with her sisters.  She loved traveling to visit many of the National Parks.   She also made several mission trips to Honduras and loved working the children in that area.  In 2006, she was able to travel to Scotland and Ireland which was a major bucket list item for her.

One of Marilyn’s favorite hobbies was tracing the ancestry of both the Winget and Ruple sides of her family.  She collected information and photographs from all sides and loved to talk about her findings to anyone and everyone.

Marilyn was a Children’s Bible School Teacher at the Minden Church of Christ for many years.  She loved finding different ways to bring the Bible stories to life for the children and the children loved her as a teacher.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dhuwan and the staff of MD Clinics in Minden and the nursing staff of Christus Schumpert Highland in Shreveport for their tender care during her illness.
