Marilyn Keith Crawford

Marilyn Keith Crawford, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 91.

Born on November 11, 1933, in Keithville, Louisiana, to Elmo Arnold Keith and Mary Estelle Flores, Marilyn was a longtime resident of Shreveport before moving to Lake O’ the Pines in 1975. She was known for her extraordinary warmth, her passion for cooking, and her welcoming home at the lake. No one ever walked in Marilyn’s home without being drawn to the kitchen to see and smell what she was preparing. She found great joy sitting on her deck, listening to the sounds of the water while watching birds and boats alike.

Marilyn married Jimmy McCrary, with whom she had two daughters, Mary Alice and Jimmie Kay. After Jimmy’s untimely passing, she married Charles Crawford, and together they welcomed a beloved son, Robert Charles. Marilyn and Charles shared their lives until his early passing. Later, she met Eddie Webb, her devoted partner for more than 40 years.

In April 2024, Marilyn moved to The Guest House Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Shreveport, where she was well loved by the staff and formed wonderful friendships with fellow residents. She enjoyed participating in many of the activities offered and, to the delight of her family, discovered a hidden talent for art that brought her and others much joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Alice Fertitta, Jimmie Kay Arnold (Doug), and Robert Crawford (Sharon); Eddie’s three daughters, Jude, Wendy, and Becky; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom affectionately call her “Memom.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo Arnold Keith and Mary Estelle Flores; her husbands, Jimmy McCrary and Charles Crawford; her longtime partner, Eddie Webb; her siblings, Carolyn Bloxom, Norris Keith, and Buddy Keith.

A visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside.

A graveside service celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery on May 5, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., officiated by McKee Williams, honoring her special request. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Guest House Skilled Nursing and Rehab for their love and compassion.

Marilyn’s legacy of love, hospitality, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family suggests that donations be made to Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services https://lumcfs.org/donate/
