Marie Witvliet

Funeral services celebrating the life of Marie Witvliet, 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rocky Maddox and Bro. Buck Eugene Furlow. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the funeral home.

Marie was born on February 14, 1930 in Tallulah, Louisiana to William and Gertrude Witvliet. She passed away on June 1, 2023. Marie was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana and retired from Schumpert Hospital after 28 years of service as a nurse. She was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Deanne Harmon and Jennie Whittington, and her brothers, Corey Witvliet and Lenny Witvliet. Those left to cherish her memory include her nephew, John Michael Whittington and wife            Millicent; niece, Lisa Johnson and husband Joey; great-nephews and great nieces, Jarrod and Hayden Johnson, Kaylee Cuellar, John Michael Whittington, Jr., Melanie Graham, Jason Whittington, and Jackie Whittington; along with numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
