Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Marie Wallette Hardy Elmore, age 87, at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA, on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Andrew Abshire, officiating. Mrs. Marie was born November 4, 1934, in Powhaton LA, to Edward D. and Marie Grappe Wallette. She entered into rest on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, in Homer, LA. Mrs. Marie was a member of the LA Girl's State Championship Basketball team of Sibley High School in 1952. Mrs. Marie enjoyed traveling and camping at every opportunity. She was a born-again devoted Christian to her Lord and a long-time member of Westside Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA. Spending time with her family making memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a favorite pass time. Mrs. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always relished the time she was able to visit with others. Mrs. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father to her children, George Hardy; second husband, James Calvin Elmore; daughter, Georgia Browder; and nine siblings. She is survived by her son, Stephen Hardy and wife Lisa of Homer, LA; daughter, Dana Clark and husband David of Shreveport, LA; eleven grandchildren, Brandon Eskew and April, Haley Eskew and Elbert, Courtney Browder and Tull, Christy Kirkley and husband Chris, Lindsay Stanley and husband Richard, Brandy McGee and Matt, Dana Garrett and husband Brian, Christopher Kellogg, Rachel Elmore, Jacob Elmore, and Paul Elmore; ten great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Regional Hospice for the care and compassion given Mrs. Marie during her time of illness. Pallbearers will be Jacob Elmore, Paul Elmore, Elbert Snead, and Brandon Eskew.
