Marie Etta Barnes

Marie Etta Meade Young Barnes resided in Temple, TX. She was born December 22, 1927 and met her Lord on June 25, 2019. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertha Meade and Hinmann Meade; sister, Ruth Hasbrouck; brothers, Lee Meade and Bob Meade; husband, Glenn Oliver Young; and husband, Charles H. Barnes. Marie is survived by her son, Glenn Curtis Young and wife Philomeen; daughter, Rhonda Lee Young; two grandchildren, Glenn Curtis Young, Jr. and Crystal Leigh Romero and husband Luis; and three great-grandchildren, Crimson Howell, Mia Romero, and Jett Young. Mrs. Barnes graduated from Northwestern School of Nursing in 1973 and worked in the nursing field for 14 years in Shreveport, LA. Having lived in Shreveport over 50 years, she was a faithful Christian and worshipped at the Southern Hills Church of Christ and the University Church of Christ. For the past five years, she attended Western Hills Church of Christ in Temple, TX. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Mr. Jay Harbert officiating. Interment will follow at Summer Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Glenn Curtis Young, Jr.(Jett Young), Luis Romero, (Mia Romero and Crimson Howell), Bruce Duke, Joe Huffman, Waymon Wren, and Johnny Pelezo. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Mankin, Bob Nelson, and Jerry Fielder.
