Maria P. DeFlores

Memorial services for Maria Guadalupe Prez DeFlores, 81, of Harlingen, Texas, will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.

María Guadalupe Perez De Flores also known as Lupita, was born on October 29, 1941, to Jose Guadalupe Perez and Flora Erevia in Valle Hermosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico and passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Maria was raised in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was an elementary school teacher in Reynosa for more than 10 years. She obtained her master's degree at the University of Tamaulipas. She was the loving wife of Mr. Fidel Vazquez and the wonderful mother of their daughter Aracely. Her favorite pastime was cooking and spending a lot of time with her family.  She was a very sweet, happy, and charming woman. A few years after becoming a widow, she moved to the United States. She eventually met and happily married Mr. Santiago Flores. She always took great care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always made sure that they were always happy and that they had everything they needed such as school stuff and other personal stuff.  She will be dearly missed but she always be remembered with great love and affection.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband; Santiago Perez Flores; father, Jose Guadalupe Perez and mother; Flora Herevia. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Aracely Vazquez; granddaughter, Arely Gonzalez; grandsons, Roberto Vazquez and Medel Guadalupe Vazquez; great-grandson, Brandon Cardenas; and great-granddaughter, Nahomi Olvera and sister; Flora Sanhez.
