Margaret Carol Rowell
HOMER, LA: A graveside service was held for Mrs. Margaret Carol Sanders Rowell, age 86, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA, on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Brian Thurman, officiating. The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Rowell was born on March 22, 1935, in Homer, LA, to Cecil H. and Etola Triplet Sanders. She entered into rest at her residence in Homer on Tuesday, April 06, 2021. Mrs. Rowell loved the outdoors. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, going fishing, and hunting with family. Mrs. Rowell liked playing cards with her friends in the Rook Club at the Homer's Country Club. She worked many years as the Deputy Clerk at the Claiborne Parish Clerk of Court office where she eventually retired. Mrs. Rowell and her good friends enjoyed traveling throughout the lower 48 states by plane, bus or automobile. She was a small animal lover and liked their company. Mrs. Rowell took pleasure in shopping and collecting antiques.
Mrs. Rowell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd O. Rowell; and sons, Robert Rowell and Curtis Keith "Tiny" Rowell.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Martha Baxley Rowell; a grandson, Scott Rowell; two great-grandchildren, Tristian Rowell and Addyson Rowell; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A big \"thank you\" to her caregivers Diane Tabor, Denis Dew, Debbi Compton and Erica Ford for their compassion and love shown over the past four years. A special thanks to Earlean Howard for always being there.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Rowell, her family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church's "I Love My Church" fund, American Diabetes Association or donor's choice.
