Margaret Minnette McElhannon

Margaret Minnette McElhannon, a lifelong resident of the Shreveport area, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Lee McElhannon and grandson, Shane Kelley Wade.

Minnette is survived by her children, Rick McBride, Debra McBride, Shalon DeGruy, and Robby McElhannon and by her sister, Jennifer Swim Marah; five grandchildren; Tiffany, Carey, Andrew, Dakota and Lundi, twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Minnette’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She retired from Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent after a long and satisfying career. Minnette was a faithful member of Life Tabernacle Church and Keithville Baptist and The Gathering Place where she found great joy in her faith in Jesus Christ.

She loved her cookies, Butterfingers and Coca-Cola, often sharing these joys with her family and friends. She also loved bowling with her friends and hanging out. Her family finds comfort in the love she shared and the memories they hold dear.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chuck DeGruy.
