Margaret Ann Benson Hutson

A Celebration of Life service for Margaret Ann Benson Hutson, 83, will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Benton, 201 Bellevue St., Benton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Robert Beadle and Pastor John Campbell.

Margaret was born on April 11, 1940, to Swan Benson and Thelma Smith Benson in Wahkon, Minnesota and passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Margaret was born in Wahkon, Minnesota, and graduated from Central High School in Austin, Minnesota, in 1958, laying the foundation for a future dedicated to service and care for others. Margaret was of the Baptist faith, having served in several positions in the church over the years, as well as having served as a church administrator for several years.

Throughout her life, Margaret was known for her unwavering advocacy for those in need. She opened her home to individuals, offering support and comfort when it was needed most. Her actions spoke volumes about the depth of her compassion and the strength of her character.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Dunn and siblings, Blanche Monson Nichols, Merle Monson, Edward Monson, Milfred Lee Monson and Karl Benson. She is survived by her husband, Phillip “Woody” Hutson; children, Keith Dunn, Brett Dunn and wife, Tawanna, Todd Dunn and wife, Linda, Martene Vickers; sister, Karene Jones; grandchildren, Donna Ann Dunn and husband, Chris, Michael Scott Dunn and wife, Catherine, Brett “B.J.” Dunn and wife, Deserea, Ashley Dunn, Chad Behan and wife, Jamie, David Dunn, Woody Dunn and James “Jamie” Vickers along with numerous great-grandchildren.
