Marcille Eloise Bryant

Funeral Services honoring the life of Marcille Eloise Bryant will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at Mooringsport United Methodist Church, 221 Lake Street, Mooringsport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Dana Paul Ellis. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment will immediately follow the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Pickering Street in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Marcille Eloise Bryant was born September 19, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas to Roy Lee and Mary Ethel Wall Griffith and passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 12, 2021 at her home in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Marcille was a graduate of Mooringsport High School where she was a cheerleader and football sweetheart. She was lovingly married to Donald Alfred Bryant for 55 years until his death in 2008. A longtime member of Mooringsport United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir and served on many committees. Marcille worked for Texas Eastern, Globe Travel and General Motors. She enjoyed watching football and was a devout Louisiana State University Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan. Spending time with her family was important to her as she always attended any event in which her grandchildren were involved. She also loved to cook especially for family, her church and many friends. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband; parents; infant, Donald Alfred Bryant, Jr.; sisters, Gwen Sheffield and Darlene Aberl and husband, Marty; and brother, Bill Griffith and wife, Dorothy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Phyllis Bryant Ellis, and husband, Dana of Bowling Green, KY; Calista Bryant Aberl and husband, Paul of Mooringsport, LA, and David Bryant and wife, Betty of DeBerry, TX; sister, Linda Springer and husband, Sam of Mooringsport, LA; grandchildren, Amy Crow and husband, Tyler, Rodney Walker and wife, Tara; Heather Layman and husband, Allen; and Thomas Ellis and wife, Jennifer; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Ethan Crow, Rook Crow, Tyler Crow, Thomas Ellis, Steve Springer, Mason Walker, Maverick Walker, and Rodney "Spud" Walker, Jr. The family would like to thank Dr. James Jackson and his staff at Tri-State Medical Clinic and Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana for their care and compassion.
