Marc Tyler Brock

While words may not fully capture the depth of our loss, we will gather to celebrate a life beautifully lived and dearly cherished.

A Celebration of Life for Officer Marc Tyler Brock, 25, will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at North Caddo Magnet High School Sanders-Prudhomme Stadium, 201 Airport Drive: Vivian, Louisiana. A visitation will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 311 N Pine: Vivian, Louisiana. Interment of Officer Brock will be held in a private ceremony for family.

Officer Brock was born on August 14, 2000, to Shirley Brock and Demario Thomas. Marc is a 2018 graduate of North Caddo Magnet High School where he played football, baseball, and track in addition to being involved in multiple service organizations. He continued his education at Bossier Parish Community College majoring in Criminal Justice. Officer Brock joined the Vivian Police Department six years ago as a public communications officer before putting on his badge as a police officer.

To know Marc was to love Marc. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. In addition to organizing donations for kids in need at school and the holidays, Marc dedicated the remainder of his time to coaching and caring for his family. Officer Brock was the Offensive and Defensive Line Coach at North Caddo Magnet High School where he has coached for 5 years. Marc was also a little league football and baseball coach with the Vivian Athletic Association where he had the privilege of coaching his “best friend” Grayson.

Marc grew up learning the importance of service above self at an early age. Raised by three women in the school system who also volunteered in the community, Marc grew up in the community and quickly became “everyone’s child.” Marc was seen at school events, community events, and even the local swimming pool where the lifeguards absolutely loved him. Marc was not just the heart of his mom, aunt, and grandmother but a light to all he encountered. Marc’s heart only grew bigger when his younger brother, Aiden, joined his life journeys.

Marc never wanted attention but quickly became the center of any room he entered. A smile that could melt the heart of anyone he encountered, radiating a light and energy that could make anyone’s day brighter. Marc had a sense of humor and playful spirit that will be remembered by all. Traveling the state to see LSU and the Saints play or taking road trips with his aunt, brother, and mom, Marc was a spirit that will be greatly missed.

Marc had an enormous heart; tender and always loving. Marc was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him. Throughout his life, he touched countless hearts with his compassion, gentle humor, and loyalty to family and friends. He always took care of his family and would do whatever he could to help anyone. His love grew even deeper when he met Kambreigh. There is truly nothing Marc would not do for Kam. With an anticipated marriage next spring, Marc leaves behind many loving, fun memories that she will carry with her forever.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, Marc was tragically taken from us while doing what he loved, serving the Town of Vivian with his fellow brothers and sisters of the Vivian Police Department. Marc loved his job and loved his coworkers. Even more, Marc loved the citizens of this town. Marc not only asked for extra shifts and would come in early or stay late for his fellow officers, but he was not afraid of what each night held. Marc did not mind working alone on a graveyard shift or coming in so another officer could file a warrant or transport someone. Marc could be a little hardheaded but had the biggest heart and smile. Marc’s life ended way too soon. His passing has left a space that can never be filled, but his smile, love, kindness, and spirit remain with all who knew him.

Marc was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Clayton L and Shirley T Murry; maternal grandfather, Robert Brock; maternal great-uncles Steven Murry and Edwin Brock; and paternal grandfather Michael June Sr.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Shirley Brock-Dennis and husband Marcus Dennis; his father, Demario Thomas and wife Natalie; his siblings Aiden Brock, Dakarya “Koko” Thomas, Destiny Adger, and Isaac Osborn. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Bonny Brock and paternal grandmothers Mary Thomas and Patricia June; his very special aunt, Angela “GG” Channell; extended special family Kyle Rambin and Grayson Brooks; fiancé Kambreigh Smith; along with many great aunts, uncles, and cousins; close knit law enforcement and coaching family; and beloved friends who loved him throughout his life.

The family would like to extend deepest thanks to the Vivian Police Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, neighboring police agencies, North Caddo EMS, and North Caddo Medical Center for your devotion, compassionate care, and continued service. Your support brought comfort to our family during a difficult time.

As we grieve this loss, we also give thanks for the gift of Marc’s life and the time he shared with us. Even with this tragedy, Marc would want his family, friends, fellow officers, and community family to continue his legacy of compassion, love, and kindness. Go Make a Difference and continue to enrich others’ lives just as Marc did with everyone he met.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Memorial Fund set up in Marc’s name at Citizens Bank and Trust or the Vivian Police Department, North Caddo High School Football Team, or Vivian Athletic Association.

Officer Brock, your brothers and sisters have the watch from here, VP22, you will forever be in our hearts.
