Marbie Elizabeth (Liz) Grant Sexton

Marbie Elizabeth (Liz) Grant Sexton was born on October 31, 1921, to Marbie Cunningham Grant and Walter Lee Grant. She left this earth to be with her Lord on June 27, 2025, having reached the age of 103 years and nine months.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank J. Sexton on August 8, 1993. They had been married for 52 years at the time of his passing.

She leaves behind her four children, Marbie Burnett, Fran Keeth and her husband Henry, Pete Sexton and his wife Fudge, and Ronnie Sexton and his wife Emmie. In addition, she leaves 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.

Liz was very active in whichever church she was a member, always working behind the scenes in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. She was known for her German Chocolate Cakes and Chicken and Spaghetti Casserole. She and Frank were founding members of West Lake Baptist Church where they remained members until their passing. Liz was very involved in Campers on Mission making numerous trips to Mexico handing out tracks and bibles. She also participated with Campers on Mission in the restoration of church facilities and campgrounds. She was an avid reader and love playing any kind of board or card games.

While she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends, we take comfort knowing she is now home with the Lord.

Graveside services for Liz will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at West Lake Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.
