A graveside service for Madel Burkhalter Stone, 85, will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Tommy Patton assisted by Rev. Bill Kincaid. Madel was born August 31, 1936 in Linden, Texas to Gordon Burkhalter and Margarette Metts Burkhalter and passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Madel worked as a bookkeeper in the medical profession before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy in her life. She loved needlepoint and was a master at dominoes. She loved playing games and always loved to win! She was very competitive! Madel is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Stone; sister-in-law, Annie Stone; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Bobby Stone, Sr., and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Bobby Stone, Jr., and wife, Kristina; Michele Hartman and husband, Paul, and Chris Hurt; great-grandchildren, Mykalynd Stone, Rhyllie Hartman, Austin Balko, and Vlada Stone; sister, Rhodene Stephens; brothers, David Burkhalter and wife, Judy, and Theodore Burkhalter. Honoring Madel as pallbearers will be Bobby Stone, Jr., Paul Hartman, David Burkhalter, Austin Balko and Marcus Logan. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Bill "Butch" Bunch. The family would like to thank The Village at The Glen and St. Joseph Hospice for the wonderful care and support given to Madel.
