ATHENS, LA: A graveside service will be held for Mack H. Murray, Jr., age 63, at New Hope Cemetery in Athens, LA, on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Steve Reeves, officiating. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 5-8 p.m.
Mack was born on January 23, 1956, in Shreveport, LA, to Myrtle Hopkins and Mack H. Murray, Sr. He entered into rest on Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Shreveport, LA. He served proudly for 14 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Mack was a crazy old man that loved his family, loved gaming, and had an uncontrollable sense of humor.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Rebecca Rice Murray; three daughters, Keisha Murray of Belton, TX, Misty Murray of Waco, TX, and Emily Nicklas and husband Michael of Emerson, AR; a son, Robert Richter of Athens, LA; a brother, Jimmy L. Murray and wife Jennifer of Bonham, TX; seven grandchildren, Travis, Dustin, Ian, Sean, Victor, Morgan, and Raven; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Audrey, Kristoffer, and Margaret; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Richter, Victor Langston, Zachariah Tilley, Jack Lowrey, Sothearith Iem, and Hunter Hathorn.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mack, his family suggests memorials be made to American Heart Association, 745 Olive St. #111, Shreveport, LA 71104.
