A graveside service for Mabel Marceil Cranford, 95, will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gevan Spinney.
Marceil was born on March 15, 1931, to Tom and Jewel Turner in Bossier City, Louisiana, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Marceil cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and was always so proud of each one of them. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and collecting porcelain dolls and Seraphim angels, hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. To her family, she was truly an angel on earth.
A woman of deep faith, Marceil loved her Lord and was a devoted member of the Methodist church. She made her home in Homer for more than 30 years, where she lived a long and beautiful life marked by kindness, grace, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Marceil was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jewel Turner; her loving husband of 75 years, Jack Cranford; and her brother, Floyd Turner. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dianne Hedrick and Denise Wisdom, and husband, Butch, and son, Dick Cranford, and wife, Barbara. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one soon-to-be great-great-grandson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org>give, or to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the Colonial Oaks staff and Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion given to Marceil.
