Shreveport, LA- Funeral service for Rayford Carnline, 69, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Rev. Bob Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Lambertown Cemetery near Robeline in Natchitoches Parish. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to the service time at the funeral home.
Rayford was born July 21, 1948 in Natchitoches, LA to Melvin and Lodis Carnline and passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Shreveport. He graduated from Woodlawn High School where he was an accomplished athlete and later attended Northwestern State University. Rayford proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After returning to Shreveport, he worked at AT&T until he became the proud owner of John Henry's Bar and Grill. Being a Louisiana native, he grew up hunting and fishing and was also an avid LSU fan (Geaux Tigers!). The birth of his grandson 18 months ago was truly one of the happiest moments of his life.
Rayford was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Judy Horn and her daughter Debra Stricklin of Doyline, LA; son, Todd Carnline and wife, Anna Rhodes of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Riggs Carnline; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
