Lynn Starkey Woolman

Lynn Starkey Woolman, on Sunday, February 27, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, went to be with her Heavenly Father whom she loved and served with all of her heart, all of her life. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 12, 1957 to Claude Thomas Starkey and Anna Katherine Haile Starkey. Friends are encouraged to join the family in a celebration of her life to be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Temple, 5606 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Lynn was a very loving and compassionate person. She was especially drawn to babies and young people, all of whom loved her immediately. She lived life to its fullest, disregarding the pain, and approached everything with a positive attitude and outlook. She was very artistic and was a pro in decorating. She was creative having designed and made jewelry. Her flower arrangements and decorations for all of the holidays were always real works of art. Every holiday was a time to celebrate to the fullest. She was an avid football fan and always got totally involved in the game. Whatever team she was supporting at the time had an active, noisy, cheerleader. She was very partial to the University of Texas Longhorns. This was her father\'s alma mater and of course she must be a loyal fan just as he was. She was one who was steadfast in her faith and grew strength from her deep convictions, worship and prayer. She was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Temple for over 45 years and served in many capacities, as soloist and worship leader, as Sunday School Teacher, as Youth Pastor, and as Co-Pastor of the church with her husband, Gerry. Lynn was a very efficient, resourceful employee in the various jobs she held over the years. Her current position was that of Office Administrator at Tri-State Physical Therapy. This job she has held for the past thirty years. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her very dear friend and second \"Mom\", Lorraine Pennington and brother-in-law, David Richardson. Lynn is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gerry M. Woolman; her brother, Tommy Starkey and wife, Maria; sister, Carol Cox and husband, Joe; nephews, Travis Starkey and wife, Anna, Austin Starkey and wife, Kathleen, Connor Cox and wife, Bethany and Kevin Cox and wife, Nicole; niece, Hannah Hobson and husband, Ross; great-nephews and nieces, Wilson, Adam, Eve, Josephine, and Nathan; sister-in-law, Jan Richardson; brother-in-law, David Woolman and wife, Jennifer and her three little fur babies, Bevo, Harley and Sugar.
