Lynda Maxine Palmer

Lynda Maxine Palmer, 75, entered into eternal rest on April 12, 2021, in Mansfield, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring Lynda will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Rose-Neath Mansfield. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Permenter. Interment will follow the service located at Reeves-McMillian Cemetery in Logan, Texas. Lynda was born on March 25, 1946, in Logansport, Louisiana to Walter David Pierce and Catherine Edington Pierce. Lynda opened and ran multiple high-end jewelry stores. She loved jewelry and making people happy. Her accolades won her many quota-based trips including one to the Bahamas in which she enjoyed thoroughly. She never met a stranger and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. She loved her family, and her grandbabies were the light of her life. She lost her husband Joe Douglas Palmer not long ago but continued to work, thrive, prosper and serve the community. She had a love for flowers, especially sunflowers. Her husband Joe would plant a row every summer in his garden. Lynda always loved bargain shopping and dreamed of going to the unclaimed baggage center this summer. Preceding Lynda are her parents, Walter and Catherine Pierce; her husband of 53 years, Joe Douglas Palmer; her brothers, Don David Pierce and Billy Jack Pierce; and her sister, Iva Jean Cheatwood. She is survived by her son, Joe Logan Matheny; her daughters, Heather Palmer of Carmel, Louisiana and Hope Rascoe and husband Clint of Converse, Louisiana; her sister, Betty Pierce Daniels of Mansfield, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Lindsey Rascoe and Bailey Rascoe; along with her fur grandbabies, Scooter and Zoe. Honoring Lynda as pallbearers will be Clint Rascoe, Shane Tingle, Robert Daniels, William Parker, Roy Cheatwood, and Logan Matheny. The family would like to give a special thanks to DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office and Mansfield Police Department for their hard work and service. Also thanks to Dr. Thomas Pressley and staff for their longtime care and to the Patel family for bringing her into to their family for many years and their continued generosity.
