Luella â??Lollyâ?? Frances DeFreze Sibley

Funeral services for Luella "Lolly" Frances DeFreze Sibley, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Robert Davis. Lolly was born in Panama City, Panama on May 12, 1937 to Frances Josephine Eichhorn and Raymond Cassius DeFreze. She passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Lolly obtained her RN from Northwestern State University, where she began a career as a nurse, working primarily with psychiatric patients. It was through this job that she found her love and passion for working in the mental health field, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She pursued this passion by obtaining her master's degree in social work and embarking on a career to help patients through a variety of techniques, from psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, to family and marriage counseling. She loved and cared for her patients for more than 30 years, even postponing her retirement so she could continue to serve them until they were ready for her to retire. Lolly met her husband, Robert Carson Sibley, Sr., while attending Northwestern State University and they were married in 1956. Even after 65 beautiful years of marriage, Lolly would frequently comment on how lucky she was to have married the most handsome man she'd ever seen. Lolly had three children she adored: Cassie, Bob, and Andy. After retirement, Lolly enjoyed a variety of hobbies in the creative space. An avid sculptor and painter, her art adorns the walls of her children's homes. She also loved reading and learning, and her shelves remained stocked with a variety of literature. Lolly is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Andrew DeFreze and son, Robert "Bob" Carson Sibley, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Carson Sibley, Sr.; daughter, Cassie Denise Werfal and husband, Jeff; son, Andrew "Andy" Mark Sibley and wife, Beth; sister, Sandra Braly and husband, Gary and five grandchildren, Dr. Robert Carson Sibley, III and wife, Anna, Kristin Elizabeth Sibley, Anna Leigh Sibley, Sterling Sibley Werfal and Mary Catherine Sibley. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Andy Sibley, Jeff Werfal, Sterling Werfal and Dr. Robert Carson Sibley, III.
