Funeral services for Ludie Yvonne Harkness McCullough, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Robert Beadle. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxie Cemetery between Crowley and Eunice. Officiating that service will be Reverend Dalton Adger. Yvonne was born in Belcher, Louisiana on October 21, 1941 to Reggie Eugene Harkness and Ludie Mae Smith Harkness and passed peacefully from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Vivian, Louisiana. Yvonne lived in Belcher all of her life and attended schools in Belcher and Vivian. She attended Ayers School of Business in Shreveport and was employed for 17 years with United Gas. She also was employed by FNB in Shreveport. She had a beautiful singing voice which she shared often at Belcher Baptist Church, where she was a lifetime member. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen Harkness Wingate and Hazel Ruth Burnett and brothers, William Eugene Harkness and Johnny Clyde Harkness. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, David B. McCullough of Belcher, Louisiana; children, Cindy Jones and John L. McCullough (Trina); granddaughters, Hayley Rae Jones and Juanita McCullough; grandson, David McCullough; great-granddaughter, Harper Rae Broz, all from the Houston area; sisters, Mattie H. Allen and Jeanette H. Trickett (Gary); brother, Jimmy R. Harkness (Judy); brother-in-law, Marvin Burnett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Glynn Ellen Martin of Georgia and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to her caregiver, Theresa Sanchez for the love and support shown to Yvonne. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 920 Pierremont Rd. #300, Shreveport, Louisiana 71106, Belcher Baptist Church, 313 Gray St., Belcher, Louisiana 71004 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214.
