Louise Cummings Methvin

Louise Cummings Methvin, 89, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Born on May 4, 1936, Louise lived a life defined by devotion to her family. This year would have marked her 90th birthday, a milestone reflecting nearly nine decades of kindness and grace.

Louise is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Jerry Methvin. Together, they built a beautiful legacy starting with their three daughters: Julie Juneau and husband Mitch; Alice Normand and husband Neill; and Mary Cowser and husband Danny. She was a beloved granny to Jason Juneau, Joshua Juneau, Jacob Juneau and wife Kathryn, John Juneau and wife Jenna; Sydney Mays and husband Tanner, Samantha Normand and husband Jon Packer; Emily Barras and husband Alex, and Landon Cowser and wife Haley. Her joy continued through her great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Ethan, Paityn, Joseph, and Jones Juneau; Harper Mays; Lainey Barras; and Bennett and Aria Cowser.

Louise is also survived by her beloved sister, Johnnie Mae Culpepper; her sisters-in-law Linda (Jim), Cynthia (widow of Robert), Becky (Art), and Carmen (Don); and her cherished, life-long friend, Norma.

Louise lived a life of quiet strength and unwavering devotion. She was the steady heart of her family, offering comfort and stability through life’s most difficult moments. She didn't rely on grand gestures; instead, she built her legacy through a lifetime of showing up for those she loved.

She had a special gift for making others feel cared for, most notably through her cooking. Even in a family of talented cooks, Louise stood apart. Whether it was a favorite dish or a quiet visit over a meal, the memories of her table will be deeply treasured by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall St. in Shreveport, followed by a private burial at Bearcreek Cemetery in Bryceland, LA.
