LAKE PROVIDENCE, LA: Funeral services were held for Loretta Goyne Moore, age 84, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 3647 Hwy 146, Homer, LA, on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Baskin, officiated. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA. The family received friends at the church on Sunday from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service. Loretta was born August 16, 1937, in Monroe, LA to Tommy and Loree Cannon Goyne. She entered into rest on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Lake Providence, LA, surrounded by her family. Loretta married the love of her life, Robert H. Moore, whom she knew since eight grade and he gave her the name "Duke" that lasted a lifetime. They first met when he sat beside her on the school bus for a school field trip. Loretta enjoyed many years of fishing with her husband, mainly on Lake Claiborne. She graduated from Northeast Louisiana University, which is ULM today, with a Master plus 30 and taught in Ouachita's school system for over 30 years. She was spoiled by everyone in her life. She so looked forward to meeting her first great-grandson, Lincoln Jackson Eaton. Loretta promised her daughter, Cydni, that she would give Reece a big hug and kiss when she saw him in heaven. She loved playing cards with her friends in Homer. Loretta enjoyed reading and cross-word puzzles. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband and father of her children, Robert Harold Moore; sister, Tommie Jean Smith; and grandson, Tom Reece Hutson, III. She is survived by her daughter, Cydni Hutson and husband Tom Reece Hutson, Jr.; son, Tommy Moore and wife Daina; two grandchildren, Cyd Eaton and husband Brian and Bridget Hutson; one great-grandson, Lincoln Jackson Eaton; along with other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Brian Eaton, Nathon Thompson, Mike Word, Steve Smith, Dr. Tony Pearce, and Brandon Salmon. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Loretta, her family suggests memorials be made to American Heart Association, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Homer, or donor's choice.
