Lois Elaine Prohaska

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Lois Elaine Berg Prohaska, 90, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. Reverend Bob Moore will officiate. Lois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on March 27, 1931 in Fargo, North Dakota to Oscar and Clara Olson Berg and was married to Frank James Prohaska, Sr. for 24 years until his death in 1993. After graduating high school, Lois joined the military and proudly served our country in the United States Marines. When she left the service, she worked in communications in different areas before settling in Shreveport, Louisiana where she later retired from the State of Louisiana at Mollie Webb Speech and Hearing Center. Lois's fondest memories there were those spent with the children that came into the center, along with meeting new people. She enjoyed helping friends, family, and even people she did not know. Lois was her happiest when she could provide care, comfort, or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her loyalty was unwavering. Lois was a lover of all animals, but truly loved her dogs and was partial to pugs. They were her life and brought her many years of joy. Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sons, Robert "Bobby" Haggerty and Terry Haggerty. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Francis "Sonny" Prohaska, Jr. and wife, Lori and Richard T. Haggerty and wife, Christina; daughters, Lori Speir and husband, Tommy, Donna Bass, and Patricia Dean; grandchildren, Joshua, Lindsay, Michael, Cody, Jacob, Shawn, Ricky, Bobby, Cory, Jeremy, Melanie, Tiffany, Autumn, Rush, Steven, Bobby, Amber, Amanda, and Cindy; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff, CNAs, Nurses, and Doctors at Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassion and care shown to Lois while at their facility.
