Lisa was born November 14, 1975 in Yuba City, California to Danny John and Debra Jean Burson Upton. She passed away December 7, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana at the age of 45.
As a young child, she loved dancing as a member of the Caddo Cuties and being a cheerleader at Forest Hills Elementary. Lisa graduated Southwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1993 where she was in the National Honor Society. She attended and graduated in 1997 from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. She helped with the Volunteers of America during college. She has worked in commercial lines insurance for 20 years. She was currently at McGriff Insurance Services where she worked as a Commercial Lines Account Manager II.
Lisa was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to all that knew her. Lisa genuinely loved people. She had the ability to make you feel important and like family from the start. She would find something nice about everyone. Her son, Daniel, said her smile could brighten the darkest room. Family was everything to Lisa. Lisa always showed up. When her family and her friends needed her, she was there no matter what. She was a caretaker to all!
Some of her favorite things were spending summers at the beach with her family. Her grandfather took the family to Ft Walton Beach, Florida since she was a baby, a tradition that lived on for Lisa. She loved listening to the waves and feeling the warm sun. However, she was not particularly fond of the sand. She was a bookworm! She could sit and read books for hours. That is what she tended to do at the beach as well. She had a passion for scary movies but loved watching the Hallmark Christmas Movie Channel. Her favorite movie of all time was \"A Christmas Story\". She was especially fond of \"Little Ralphie\".
Lisa loved music and she loved to sing. Some of her favorite music artists were The Dave Matthews Band, PINK, & Kenny Chesney. Her favorite shows were ER, The Voice, and American Idol. If there was a good fire going, you would find Lisa sitting beside it. Lisa also loved to give back. She helped those in need by providing clothing, food, making donations to their cause, or simply lending a hand. She was a \"YES, we can\" kind of person.
Lisa was so special to all that knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family & friends!
