Linda Jean Henson Perkins, born November 18, 1947, in Springhill, Louisiana, passed away on March 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of Beatrice Clark Henson and J.W. Henson and spent much of her childhood growing up in Florida.
Linda met the love of her life, Warren Charles Perkins, in 1962 in Houston, Texas. The two were married on March 25, 1963, and shared a devoted marriage until his passing in June of 2021. Together, they built a life centered on love, partnership, and family.
She was a loving mother to her two children, Joseph Perkins and Terresa Perkins Wedgeworth. Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Linda had a deeply creative spirit. She found joy in decorating cakes, crafting beautiful floral wreaths, and creating computer graphics. Dancing held a special place in her heart—from twirling around the living room with her daughter as a child to later enjoying square dancing and clogging alongside her husband.
From 2001 until their retirement in 2018, Linda and her husband proudly ran their own business, working side by side.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her beloved husband, Warren Charles Perkins; a cherished niece, Vicky Marks; and her granddaughter, Sera Jean Wedgeworth.
Linda is survived by her son, Joseph Perkins and his wife, Kari Walker; her daughter, Terresa Perkins Wedgeworth; her grandsons, D.J. Wedgeworth, Keaton Wedgeworth, and Colton Walker; her granddaughter, Emily Perkins Curtis; and her great-granddaughter, Kamryn Curtis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Amedisys Hospice, especially Jodie, Brianna, Stephanie, and Amanda, for the exceptional care they provided during Linda’s final weeks. Their kindness, compassion, and gentle care brought great comfort to both Linda and her family.
Linda will be remembered for her creativity, her joyful spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched.
