Stanley, LA - Graveside service honoring the life of Linda Joyce Whitlock Bass was 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA. Officiating the service will be Reverend Amador Santos of Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church.
Linda was born July 26, 1946, in Converse, LA to Richard and Ruth Whitlock. Linda received her ultimate healing when she drifted peacefully into glory during sunrise, Thursday, morning August 5, 2021, with her four boys and her family by her side. Linda was so much to so many; she was a caregiver by nature, always putting the needs of others before herself. She was welcoming and forgiving, a source of refuge, rest and encouragement. Linda loved God, her family, and her country passionately. She was courageous and stronger than she gave herself credit for. She was and always will be loved by all who know her. To describe Linda in one word . . . that word would be to be . . .BADASS!!!
Preceding Linda in death were her grandparents whom she adored and will be buried by Edward Preston Hatcher and Exa Fredonia Hatcher; her parents George Richard Whitlock and Lydia Ruth Daniels.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her sons; Colin Broadus, John Blunt and wife Laura, Jason Blunt and wife Becky, and Jeremy Blunt; sister Lisa Langston; brother Larry Whitlock; grandchildren Ashley, Shelby, Whitney and husband Ryan, Brittany, Megan, Cash, Serah, Deven and Amanda and husband J P; great-grandchildren, Rylynn and Baileigh; special friend Ty; and four-legged friend Chloe.
Honoring Linda as pallbearers will be Colin Broadus, John Blunt, Jason Blunt, Jeremy Blunt, Cash Blunt, Deven Blunt, Jason Burch, and Larry Whitlock. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Superior Hospice with special thanks and love to nurses Larissa, Christy, Joley, and Jessica.
