Linda Busbey

Linda Busbey, 81, was a gentle soul with a quiet disposition, a heart of gold, and a deep love for Jesus and for others. She had a beautiful gift for giving, and she found joy in bringing comfort, kindness, and love to those around her.

One of Linda’s greatest passions was sewing. Through her talent, patience, and creativity, she showered love on her community. She was devoted to the mission of Project Linus, creating handmade quilts that brought warmth and comfort to children in need. She also created countless beautiful pieces, each thoughtfully tailored to the individual’s personality and style. Every stitch was made with love, and that love could be felt in everything she created.

Linda enjoyed the simple blessings of life. She loved spending time in the warmth of the sun and enjoyed fishing. Most of all, she had a remarkable ability to find joy and God’s grace in all things. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was reflected in the way she lived, loved, and welcomed others.

Family was at the center of Linda’s heart. She shared 58 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bill Busbey, before his passing in 2024. Together, they raised two wonderful children, who were a source of great pride and love in her life. Linda was also blessed with two incredible grandsons, and later with the precious joy of becoming a great-grandmother. Her first great-granddaughter, Honey, was one of the greatest joys of her life, and the love she shared with her family will remain a treasured part of their lives forever.

Linda was a cherished member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and worked in the nursery for decades, where her faith and welcoming spirit touched those around her. She had a smile that was infectious and a warmth that made people feel loved and welcomed.

Linda leaves behind a beautiful legacy—not only in her family, but in every life she touched, every handmade creation she lovingly stitched, and every act of kindness she shared. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, infectious smile, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we can find comfort in knowing that Linda is now resting in the loving arms of the Savior she faithfully loved and trusted. Her life was a gift, her love was a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to gather between 3 pm and 4 pm, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Tabernacle Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project Linus or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
