A graveside funeral for Leslie Ray Peters, 95, will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Rose-Neath from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Randy Johnson.
Leslie was born on December 18, 1930, in Shreveport to Leslie and Ada Mae Crawford Peters and passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026,at Saint Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House in Shreveport.
Leslie married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Carter, on May 5, 1948, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned many years. During his career, he served as Chief Supervisor for the City of Shreveport Water Department, where he was respected for his dedication and professionalism. A man of many talents and interests, Leslie was both a private pilot and an accomplished violinist. He enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including flying, woodworking, leathercraft, building musical instruments, and camping. His creativity, craftsmanship, and love of adventure enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
Leslie is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Peters; daughter, Joyce Bailey; and brother, Donald Peters. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Leslie Burrow; and son, Terry Peters; grandchildren, Kayla Ford, Ron Burrow, Jr., Kelly Roberts, and Rhonda Burchard; great-grandchildren, Trey Leone, Alli Atkins, Jarrett Ford, Jaxson Ford, Kason Ford, Keagan Ford, Jacob Burrow, Samantha Burrow, Elizabeth Burrow, John Burrow, Noah Roberts, Mia-Grace Roberts, Stormy Bowman, Claudia Roberts, and Jayden Ford.
Leslie will be greatly missed, but we were so blessed to have been able to spend so many wonderful years with him that we will cherish forever.
