Leonard W. Valentine

Funeral services for Leonard Wray Valentine will be held on May 8, 2019 at the Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Thumper Miller officiating. Family to receive friends at the funeral home for visitation will be May 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.   On May 4, 2019, Leonard Wray Valentine went to be with his Heavenly Father after a long illness. He is now at peace with no pain and reunited with his parents and brothers. Leonard was a member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana and served his country in the U.S. Army. Leonard was born on July 7, 1937 in Pelican, Louisiana and was a graduate of Pelican High School, where he was very active in sports which he really excelled in and enjoyed.   Preceding Leonard in death were his parents, John and Kattie Valentine and brothers, Johnny and Tommy Valentine. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara; sons, Richard Dean Valentine; William James and wife, Carlene; and Robert Craig; daughter, Debra Lynn Hodgson and husband, Ron; sisters, Joyce Bedsole and husband, Jackie and Jeanette Norwood and husband, Richard; eight grandchildren, two great-grandsons, one great- granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.   Pallbearers will be Stephen Valentine, Andrew Valentine, Richard Leonard Valentine, Karl Bedsole, Harvey Bedsole, Larry Bedsole, Kenny Valentine, and John Valentine.   There are so many to thank for their prayers, help, and love; especially the last ten years. We will not try to name everyone for fear of leaving someone out. Just know you are appreciated and loved for always being there when we needed you.
