Grand Cane, LA - Leon Williams Bagley was born in Longstreet, La, on November 26, 1931 and departed this life September 25, 2018, to be with his Lord and many family members.
During his time on this earth, Leon graduated high school in Longstreet, La., attended Northwestern State University for a brief period before going into the dairy business in Longstreet. He served as board member for the Coordinating Development Council, was a DeSoto Parish Police Juror for three terms, worked for Bankers Life Insurance and was also a member of Grand Cane Baptist Church.
He and his wife of 68 years, Doris Holmes Bagley, were avid square dancers and Bridge players. They belonged to several clubs where they made a host of friends. In his younger years, Leon enjoyed bird hunting, playing golf, water and snow skiing.
Leon was born to Leon Banker and Lula Williams Bagley of Longstreet. His siblings were Leslie Bagley, Lucille Bagley Denison and Lawrence Bagley, all of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding Leon in death was his beloved wife, Doris, an infant son, Leon Williams Bagley, Jr.; son, Ralph Steven Bagley; grandson, Robert Levi Bagley, and daughter-in-law, Angie Putnam Bagley.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Robert Leon Bagley and wife Sandra of Iron Mountain, Michigan; daughter, Teresa Spring of Shreveport, La, and William Levi Bagley of Grand Cane, La., 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Jimmy Holmes and wife Dorothy, Jerry Holmes and wife Christal, sister-in-law, Sally Patterson Bagley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Leon will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Grand Cane Baptist Church in Grand Cane, La. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Grand Cane. Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, La, from 5:30 p.m. til 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Bagley, Ty Bagley, Lamar Holmes, Troy Spring, Jeremy Spring, Will Bagley, David Webre, and Representative Larry Bagley.
