Leamer Gray "LG" Morris, Jr.

Leamer Gray (LG) Morris Jr., 93, of Doyline, LA, passed away on November 30, 2022, at his home, after a brief illness.  LG was born on February 9, 1929, in Fort Necessity, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by wives Mary Lily Morris, and Linda Fautherree Morris, parents Leamer G Morris Sr, and Flora Brown Morris, and siblings Robert L Morris, Lola Morris Clark, and Edward E Morris.  He is survived by his sons, James Morris, Dennis Morris and wife Dee, grandsons Hank Morris and wife Jennifer, Ben Morris and wife Kelsey, great-grandchildren Joeci, KC and Waylyn, siblings Rhoda Morris Mahaffey, Raymond Morris and wife Ruby, Gussie Morris Gwin, Kathy Morris Wallace and husband Dale, Henry Morris, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, especially his stepdaughter Tammy Oxner, and step-grandchildren, Mandi Best and Zach Moncla.

LG was a hard-working businessman and opened Richmond Floors in 1966.  Whether the economy was great, or challenging, he always remained optimistic and positive.  He lived by his own motto; “somedays you just gotta get up a little earlier and work a little later”.

He was a devout Christian and had served as a deacon.  He loved attending church and was faithful in doing so.  One of the last things he said was about wanting to go to church, but “I don’t feel like I’ll be able to get out today”.

His passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives, but we rejoice that he is able to resume his full steam pace and is enjoying the presence of his Savior.

The Family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the caregivers that took such good care of our beloved “Paw”: Latoya, Carol, Mandi, and Lisa.

There will be a time of visitation, this Sunday, Dec 4, 2022, at 1:30 In the afternoon, followed by a Service to honor his life at 2:30, at Koran Baptist Church, 5158 Hwy 527, Haughton, LA 71037 with a graveside service at Westlake Baptist Cemetery, 2587, Hwy 163, Doyline, LA 71023. Honoring LG as pallbearers will be Hank Morris, Ben Morris, Bubba Morris, Trey Morris, Zach Moncla, and Tim Mills.
