Lavada L Tanner

Natchitoches, LA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Lavada "Sugar" Tanner, 89, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home Coushatta Chapel with Reverend Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time. Mrs. Tanner was born on January 12, 1930 in Natchitoches Parish, LA to Dewey and Elsie Gilcrease Murray and passed away February 24, 2019 in Natchitoches, LA. She was a manager at George's Grill for many years in Shreveport, LA. After she retired, she worked 15 years with Council of Aging RSVP program. Mrs. Tanner was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Edwin Lamar Wiggins, Jr.; siblings, Curtis Murray, Homer Murray, Katherine Murray, Helen Murray Jones, Tony Murray, A. M. Murray, Elsie Tyler, Lela M. Dalme, Betty Jane Murray Davenport, Dewey Ray Murray, Bertha M. Edwards and Harry H, VanHook. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mary W. Jinnings and Vickie Lynn W. Eiland; grandchildren, Kristie Staton and fiancee\' James Houston, John N. Jinnings and George Eugene Eiland; great-grandchildren, Austin E. Staton and fiancee' Alexis Houser, Katherine L. Staton, and Kenneth E. Eiland; siblings, Lucy Murphy, Patricia Murray, Mary Francis Murray, Paula Simon and husband, Joey, Elizabeth M. Guice, Dorothy F. Martin, Willie Mae Pittman, Joann VanHook Smith, Marshall VanHook and Walter F. VanHook. Honoring Mrs. Tanner as pallbearers will be Archie Dalme, Herbert Dalme, Adam Dalme, Austin Staton, Eugene Eiland, and Dennis Bryant. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be John N. Jinnings. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sandra and Rick Robinson.
