Lauren Elizabeth Smith

Lauren Elizabeth Smith died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Holy Angels in Shreveport, LA. She was 29.

A native of Vicksburg, MS, she was born on May 15, 1993 to the late John C. Smith and Nancy Bagby Smith. Lauren was a resident of Holy Angels for the last ten years. At Holy Angels, Lauren had a love for painting and jewelry making. She was full of life, loved to sing, dance and always had everyone smiling and laughing. She loved her family more than anything.   She was a member of Holy Angels Chapel and St. Michaels Catholic Church (Vicksburg, MS).

In addition to her parents, Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Claude W. Bagby and Eleanor Marshall Bagby; her paternal grandparents, C. Warfield Smith and Corean Pinkston Smith; an uncle, Timothy M. Smith and Charles R. Perrier;  and four cousins, Hudson Smith, Chade McCardle, Michael Perrier, and Laina Bagby.

Lauren is survived by her  guardians, James W. Smith and Melanie F. Smith; her two sisters, Torri E. Ghrigsby (Jay) and Morgan S. Haden (Kyle); a niece, Kate Walker (William); and nephews, Jack Shelton, Nick Shelton, and Anderson Haden; her uncles, Carl W. Smith Jr. (Stacey), Steve D. Smith (Amy), David S. Smith (Ashley), Claude W. Bagby Jr. (Sue), and Gregory A. Bagby (Scat); her aunts, Elizabeth A. Bagby, Susan S. Perrier, and Corean S. McCardle and numerous cousins.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 St. Michael Place, Vicksburg, MS with a graveside burial immediately following the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will always be grateful for the care and love she received at Holy Angels.
