Laura Michele Pickett

A Memorial Service for Laura Michele Pickett, 52, will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Life Church, 2222 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gary Cavalier. Laura was born on March 6, 1969 in Flint, Michigan to Mike and Rena Livingston and passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Laurie grew up in Baltimore, Maryland until moving to Louisiana at the age of 12. She graduated from Southwood High School in 1987. She was recently awarded her Bachelor's Degree from Regent University. It was one of her most memorable accomplishments. She was currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Social Work. Laurie was an accomplished singer. Although she was fundamentally a shy person, she loved to perform for others, especially for her church family. She was passionate about her Christian faith and followed Jesus unwaveringly. She was also passionate about her family and friends. She loved nature, animals, art, and music. Those who knew or met her describe her as kind, sweet, compassionate and generous. She will be missed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Joshua Pickett; children, Nicholas Roge, Chelsea Franklin, and Sylvia Lucille Brummett; parents, Mike and Rena Livingston; sister, Shannon Hadley and husband, Jason; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
