Larry Gene Sanders, 72, was born on July 6, 1952, in Minden, Louisiana, and was the youngest son of Ruby Lee Sanders and Thomas Grover Sanders. He passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Larry was a proud graduate of Airline High School and Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his degree in Computer Science.
Throughout his career, Larry applied his expertise in the field, working at Louisiana Bank and Trust, SWEPCO, and Electronic Data Systems at General Motors, where he later retired. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
A man of deep faith, Larry was a longtime member of Waller Baptist Church until its closure. More recently, he found spiritual community at Bellaire Baptist Church, where he continued to worship and serve.
Outside of his professional life, Larry found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, cherishing the quiet moments in nature and the thrill of the catch.
Larry will be remembered for his kindness, his passion for his work and hobbies, and the love he had for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Stan Thibideaux. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Charles Sanders, and wife, Diana; sister, Judy Thibideaux; nieces and nephews, Craig and wife, Amy Sanders, with sons, Blake and Carson; Amy Hollenshead Sanders; Erin and Brad Stocker, with son, Samuel, and daughter, Emmaline; Julie and Knut Radloff.
A private service will be held for family members at a later date.
