Larry DeWayne Rogers

Funeral services honoring the life of Larry "Rebel" DeWayne Rogers, 74, will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ricky Wead officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Doyle Cemetery in Starks, LA. Larry was born on September 22, 1945 in Starks, Louisiana to the late Robert LeRoy Rogers and Mildred Buxton Rogers. He entered into rest on November 24, 2019 in Mansfield, Louisiana. Larry was known by "Rebel", although he had a gentleness that was pure and true. He was sunshine in a room. Not many could crack a joke and laugh like Larry. He was a superb musician. There wasn't an instrument he picked up that he couldn't play. In his younger years, he sang and played at churches. As he got older, he would do the same for friends and family. He possessed so many wonderful traits that were treasured. His love for his family and close friends was always known. All who knew him, loved him. Larry is loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloria Moll. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Tracy Dawn Franklin Johnson of Addison, Texas; brother, Donnie Rogers of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters, Gwenda Zak of Pearland, Texas, Virginia Dunn and husband Curtis of Mansfield, Louisiana, Nita Jacobs and husband Larry of Lafayette, Louisiana and Cheryl Rogers of Mansfield, Louisiana along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
