Larry W. Lafitte, Sr.

Shreveport, LA - Larry Wayne Lafitte, Sr. age 62, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 10, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Lafitte was born to Vol Cour and Billie Johnston Lafitte on February 7, 1957 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Oakmont High School in 1976, and went to work in the sheet metal industry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. Larry was preceded in death by his dad. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Kathy Lafitte; five children, Shawn Atkins and wife April, Larry W. Lafitte, Jr. and wife Allison, Gary Caraway, Jr., Shannon Bradham and husband Eddie, Brandi Taylor and husband Thomas, Sr.; three grandchildren, Gunner Lafitte, Jayden Caraway, and Haily Caraway; mother, Billie June Lafitte; and four siblings, Darrell Lafitte and wife JoAnn, Rodney Lafitte and wife Snooks, Sandy LaLena and husband John, and Vol C. Lafitte and wife Nicki. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Rose-Neath Southside, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Southside. Pastor Don Dykes will be officiating the service, assisted by Jay Knighten. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Highland Hospital and also the staff at the Christus Cancer Treatment Center.
