Larry Baker House

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Larry Baker House, age 75, of Doyline, Louisiana will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, February 19, 2022, at The Stable at 2195 Swan Lake Rd in Bossier City with a fellowship meal immediately following. Larry went to his heavenly home on February 13, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Winnfield, Louisiana, and went on to serve in the United States Navy as a search and rescue swimmer. Larry eventually settled on the skirts of Lake Bistineau where he embraced Sportsman's Paradise as an avid outdoorsman. Anyone would tell you that Larry was a faithful servant who could be counted on. As a servant, Larry was a member of the Minden Lions Club, Masonic Lodge #51, El Karubah Shriners, an ordained minister, and many other volunteer organizations throughout the community. As a father, Papaw and friend, Larry made everyone feel like they were his favorite always checking to make sure you were ok, teaching boys how to be men, and coming to your aid no matter how well he knew you. Of all the roles in his earthly life, his ultimate joy was being called Papaw by all the grands. Papaw's gift was teaching his kids how to be a respectful sportsman, to have integrity, to serve well, and, above all, to stand strong in faith. He is survived by all his precious grandchildren; Haven, Hunter, Lakin, Lilly, Brittin, Brieece, Aubri, Kaylee, Kayden, Karter, Elisabeth, Morgan, Charles Jr., Liam, Bronwyn, Izabelle, Andrew, Maggie and two great-grand children Ryder and Penelope. Along with his beloved wife, Mary Ann, survivors include his son Larry Joe House, his wife Amanda. Daughters Angel Stefaniak, her husband Chris, Felicia Sowell and Rolan Santa Ana, Jessica Nicklas, her husband Charles, Billi Frazier, her husband Joshua, and many bonus kids that called him Dad. Larry is preceded in death by his father, O.O. House, his mother Irma Mae House, his brother Robert O. House and his nephew Dean House. In lieu of flowers please donate to Wounded Warriors in his honor. Other ways to remember Larry would be to: spread the gospel while serving others, help Mary Ann put out corn, love and lift up his grands when they need it, or find a donkey in need of a home and give it one.
