November 11, 1950 - July 31, 2026
Larry White passed away on Friday evening on July 31, 2026 at his home in Sibley, Louisiana. Larry was born on November 11, 1950 in Minden, LA to Joseph “Frank” White and Lela “Fern” White of Doyline, Louisiana. Larry grew up and lived in Doyline until 1994 where he and his wife Brenda Kaye White moved towards Lake Bisteneau on Yellow Pine Road in Sibley. He got the house on the lake he always wanted, although he didn’t get it all because wanted to be able to toss a fishing line out of his bedroom window and fish, but he got close enough. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed taking anybody who wanted to hunt or fish with him. He spent many a day with his favorite hunting and fishing partners, his father Frank and mother Fern. The three did significant damage to the fish population to the local bayous and lakes around North Louisiana. They also enjoyed time camping in the woods and hunting squirrel and deer with family and friends.
Larry also had a passion for basketball and was a member of the 1967 Doyline Panther state championship team, which he constantly reminded his son Shawn who was also a Doyline Panther basketball player. Larry also enjoyed coaching baseball, where he coached Matthew and his friends for Sibley summer league ball. He also found joy watching his grandkids play various types of sports, always offering his own spice of advice on how they should play.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Fern White of Doyline. He is survived by his lovely wife of 33 years, Brenda Kaye Bowlin of Doddridge, AR. He is also survived by two sons whom he was very proud, Shawn and Matthew. He constantly reminded his boys that they made the best decisions of their lives with picking their wives Leigh (Shawn) and Jessica (Matthew). Larry also had great love for his grandchildren Jackson White, Carter White, Chance Lewis (Ryleigh), Ramzee Lewis, Alexis Glover, Zain Pruitt, Kayden Glover, and Dalton Glover. Larry was blessed to spend time with his two great grand children, Josie Kate Lewis and Bryson Lewis. Larry was also blessed and survived by many fishing and hunting buddies across North Louisiana.
Visitation will be at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden from 5-7 pm on Friday, August 7. He will be laid to rest at a graveside service in Doyline at Point Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, August 8 at 11 am.
Pallbearers for the family are Stephen Reeves, Jeremy Reeves, Patrick Reeves, Mike Burge, Eddie Reeves, and Zain Pruitt. Honorary pall bearer will be Dwight Bowlin
