LaNelle McGee Niten

LaNelle McGee Niten, 88, of Grand Cane, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on November 9, 1934 in Chestnut, Louisiana to O.E. and Amy McGee.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Graveside services honoring the life of LaNelle will be held after the visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ron McLellan. Honoring LaNelle as pallbearers will be Jon Blunt, Jesse Fallis, Cody Niten, and Christian Weddleton.

LaNelle graduated Valedictorian of Calvin High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Amy McGee; husband, Jack Niten; two sisters and three brothers; and grandson, Kevin Fonville. Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kathy Fonville and husband Andy, Nancy Fallis and husband James, Janet Brock and husband Michael, and Tracie Abney; sons, Mike Niten and wife Ana and Tommy Niten and wife Kristi; along with 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Gloster Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.  Special thanks to Dr. Bob Massengil, Dr. Sasaki and Dr. Barnes, and all the nurses and techs at Highland Hospital and Grace Home for their excellent care and compassion.
