Ladore Duke (Buddy) Leone

Ladore Duke (Buddy) Leone passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the honorable age of 90, in Shreveport, Louisiana. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with BRAVERY. Despite the pain, Buddy did it his way and stayed strong until the end.

Buddy was born to Alva Ladore Leone and Willie (Billie) Duke-Smith on April 28, 1935, in Benson, Louisiana. He was raised in Zwolle, Louisiana, with many fond stories to tell of his childhood. He served in the Army and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He worked in Aviation for many years until retirement from Shreveport Air Center. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling, and music, as well as watching old war movies.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Brenda Leone Holland, and husband, David, and his grandson, Dylan Hammett. He also left behind his faithful feline companion of many years, Scamper. Mike Davis, his trusted friend and neighbor, was always there to help and encourage him. The family is grateful to Mike for all of his assistance, love, and support.

He was predeceased in life by his parents, sister, Francis Kay McGee, and brother-in-law, Louis McGee. One son, Richard C. Leone, and grandson, Ryan Hammett.

A memorial with military honors will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 10:30 am.
