Kyler Preston Choat
Kyler Preston Choat, age 28, of Minden Louisiana returned home to the arms of Jesus on May 11th, 2026. Kyler was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Billy Jack and Chanda Choat on November 10th, 1997. He attended Minden high school until 2015. He spent most of his young life pursuing the art of tang soo do with his brother Cameron and doing the normal brotherly antagonizing. He earned his first-degree black belt, and even instructed others in the art. Kyler went on to various work endeavors throughout his young adult life. The most memorable being five years at Walmart, where he worked in almost every department helping wherever he was needed. He made many friends, never met a stranger, and had no enemies. Last year, he accepted a job at Fibrebond where he learned to paint with pride. Despite his limited ability to see, he was determined to do his job well and this the utmost integrity. For fun and laughs, Kyler always kept his humor in the forefront. He was always determined to make your day better. He wrote poetry and loved Edgar Allen Poe. He was a cigar enthusiast and loved a nice sip of whiskey to go alongside. He loved pizza, particularly Hunt’s brothers. His music taste ranged, but among the favorites and always his go-to was paramore. He loved playing the drums with his dad and adored his mother making him chicken balls and instant mashed potatoes. October of 2020, Kyler married the love of his life Victorian. July 2023, they welcomed their baby boy Joseph Choat into the world. Kyler adored them both and loved being a dad and being silly. Joseph was his absolute pride and joy. His favorite sports team was the St Lois Cardinals. He loved having Mr. Pibb with his memaw Sue while watching a game. He also loved eating Reese’s with his memaw Pam. Kyler was a unique soul who made any situation a good one. He strived to make others feel better, and he was an advocate for mental health. He had more love in his heart than most, and wasn’t afraid to share it. His favorite saying (and in the wise words of doodlebob) ME HOY MINOY!
Kyler is preceded in death by, paw-paw Billy, memaw Sue, paw-paw Mark, and his baby born in heaven.
