In Loving Memory of Dr. Kyle Gregory Ristig Devoted Husband, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and Scholar
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. Kyle Gregory Ristig on July 10, 2025, at the age of 70. Kyle was a devoted husband, a beloved uncle, a passionate educator, and a gifted engineer. Kyle was a brilliant mind, a compassionate heart, and a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a deeply spiritual man, active in his church, and taught Sunday School for a number of years.
Kyle dedicated his career to the pursuit of knowledge, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arkansas Tech University, Master of Arts General Counseling, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University. Kyle worked as an engineer for Arkla Gas for 23 years, where he brought insight, precision, and innovation to his work. He worked as an educator for 40 years at Louisiana Tech, Louisiana State University Shreveport, and Centenary College, where he inspired students with his passion, patience, and quiet wisdom. He believed deeply in the power of learning and devoted his life to helping others discover and grow their potential.
Beyond his professional life, Kyle was a man of deep compassion and strong family and community commitment. Affectionally known as Uncle Kyle, he shared an extraordinary bond with his nieces and nephews, offering not just support and encouragement but genuine friendship. He was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a role model—someone who showed up, listened, and gave of himself freely.
Kyle was devoted to his wife Debbie, with whom he shared 35 years of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They shared a love for travel and their treasured dogs.
Kyle was preceded in death by his parents, Marc and Chrys Ristig. Kyle is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his brother, Kurt Ristig and wife, Freda; brother-in-law, John Gegg and wife, Debbie; his cherished nieces and nephews, Erica Ristig Hayes, Matthew LaRue, Kevin LaRue, Elizabeth Gegg and Christina Gegg; and many colleagues, students, and friends who mourn their loss and honor his memory.
